Potty Training Update

Keyton is officially potty trained. He has done so good I cant believe it took the Santa trick to get him to do it. I will have to use this one with Kaycen in the future. Keyton wakes up dry when he takes naps and also every morning. He has only had one accident in the night since we started. And only a couple accidents in his pants. It really has been an interesting adventure for the both of us. Yesterday I ran errands in town and then stopped at a ladies house to get some vinyl and he said he had to potty. So she was kind enough to let us use her bathroom (she has young children and knows the routine). As we left Keyton of course had to walk through the snow to the car. As soon as I got him all buckled in and put the car in drive he then started yelling he had to go potty again. I was like... ya right kid. So I tried to distract him and then started pulling away and he yelled it again. Well I dont like him to have any accidents because of my selfishness so I parked the car, unbuckled the car seat, ran back to the nice vinyl ladies house and asked to use her bathroom again. And I was right... only a trickle of pee. So back out to the car we went, Keyton through the snow and into the car. I think he just really wanted to get out and run through the snow, dont you think??!! Gotta love 'em!!

Banner Christmas Party
November 29, 2008
Thanks Gammy and Gampy for such a fun big extended family party. And Thanks Aunt Jill and Uncle Rick for hosting. The talent show was really good this year, as always. I think they said they totalled everyone up and there were 68 of us. It was so nice to see all the family there. Some of the cousins we have not seen for years. Santa came and visited. Keyton didnt want anything to do with Santa so I told him that he had to sit on his lap to get his present. He jumped on long enough for me to get the picture and then off he jumped as soon as Santa gave him his gift. Kaycen wasnt too sure of him either, but as long as he could see me he was ok.

Potty Training here we go...

Last Thursday when I was changing Keyton's dirty diaper for the THIRD time that day I told him this... "You know what.. Santa only brings kids who wear underwear and go potty in the big boy potty presents. And kids who wear diapers dont get any presents from Santa." Well I have tried all different kinds of things and nothing seems to matter to him. Well this definately hit the spot because as I was trying to put his diaper on he threw a HUGE fit and wanted his Spiderman underwear on. Since then he has been wearing underwear (with the acception of at night he wears a pull-up because I dont want the mess) Well we have had some accidents, which I knew would happen. But for the most part he takes himself to the bathroom. They can never pick a good time to start something like this either, with Thanksgiving this week and we are heading down to Utah for the weekend. Wish us luck that he can keep it up. Any advice on them not reverting would also be helpful. Or even on how to get them to not be scared of other places besides his own potty. And last, please pray for me to have LOTS of patience because I can tell I will need it a lot in the coming weeks.

Mommy's lifesaver!!!

Kaycen just loves playing in this fun saucer activity thing. Let me just tell you... if you dont have one and have a baby between the ages of 5-12 months this is a MUST HAVE. Kaycen is going through the fun stage of wanting to be held all the time. Which I guess I feel bad for him because I think he is trying to cut some teeth. (I have been thinking this for awhile now). So when he is happy I set him in this and it gives me about 5-15 minutes of hand free time. But only 1 minute if Keyton decides to make him mad. I guess even if its one minute I will take it :)

Laundry Fun!

Monday I was doing laundry and Keyton decided to "help." Well I left the bedroom and went into the kitchen and the next thing I hear is "look Mommy, I have Daddy's pants on!" I think the picture explains the rest. Keyton is so much fun these days, even though he really is SUPER busy and into EVERYTHING all the time. I sure love him!

Veteran's Day

We just wanted to take a minute to THANK all the Veterans for their services in making America a free country. St. Anthony has a march every Veteran's Day and Grandpa always participates. We didnt get to make it this year because of the freezing cold weather, but last year Keyton and I went and what an honor. Grandpa Wright is the one holding the American flag. Thanks again Veterans!! If you are reading this and are a Veteran in our family, please email us a picture of you in your Uniform for our Scrapbook! Thanks. We love you!

Kaycer Man!

I just love this little (big) guy so much! He has been such a good baby and is so fun to watch grow. He is five months old now and changing everyday. I took Kaycen to the Doctor yesterday. His Stats are as follows: Weight 16 pounds 7 oz and 24 1/2 inches tall. We started feeding him rice cereal last week and he seems to really enjoy it. As you can see from the pic above. And as you can see he has outgrown his 3 month outfit he is wearing ;)

HALLOWEEN DAY

Keyton is a Pirate and Kaycen is a goldfish!

Kaycen at my Dad's house. He was SO good in his costume. I was sure he would hate it.

Trick or Treating with Grandpa Wright at GGPA's.

Another Fun Weekend with the Briggs!

Over the Month of October "Haunted Mill Season" we have a bunch of family that come to help work in the Mill. There also is plenty of fun that goes on. Last weekend we decided to celebrate Dennis' 60th Birthday. We through him a surprise party and we all pitched if for Nintendo Wii. His favorite is Guitar Hero, as you can see from the picture below. He wouldnt even give the grandkids a turn. He kept saying... one more song, one more song.
Keyton and Naomi (Heath & Coleen's youngest)
I cannot believe how big Kaycen is getting. I take him in for his 4 month check up (which he will be 5 months) this week. I will update with his stats Friday.

Carving Pumkins with the Cousins!

Sunday October 26th we carved pumkins with Holly's kids and Aunt Heidi! They had so much fun. Holly's kids wouldnt touch the 'GUTS'! This totally cracked me up... sorry Holly. Anyways, I had to get a pic of them... Jeron has his hands on his hips and Alorah has her sad face on. These kids are so funny. After awhile Alorah finally braved to touch the slimy guts. Keyton thought it was funny that we were getting the seeds out to cook. He didnt care much about the pumkin, he was more interested in the knives that came with the pumkin carving kit. Good thing they were not very sharp and that him and Jeron were on opposite sides of the bar so there was no sword knife fighting. Britt also had to get in on the fun. He thought the picture carvings were too much so he just carved an original for Keyton. Then after I took the pic he added on a mustache, tear drops and weird eye brows. Never a dull moment! Love you Britt.

Duck Days in September!

And it wouldn't be a trip to see the ducks if Keyton didn't throw rocks in the pond. The
last time we went he was throwing rocks over the heads of some college girls.
He thought that was so funny.
Keyton was not scared of the ducks at all. He would run around and chase them laughing hysterically. We had to keep telling him to slow down because there was a sign that read
" DO NOT HARASS THE ANIMALS"
Of course we have to play on the kids playground!! It wouldn't be a duck trip if we didn't.
This day we went with the Jensen's. We didn't even sit down to eat our lunch and the ducks invaded us. As you can see... Keyton and Wes ended up on the picnic table so the ducks wouldn't get them. They were so funny to watch. I love seeing the simplest joys in my kids. Oh ya, I am pretty sure EVERY duck from the pond was there.
This picture of Kaycen cracks me up. He looks so laid back with the ducks all around him.
He definitely has my personality.

Wish I had Pics!!

Ok, OK! I know that I have not updated my blog in forever!! So the biggest problem is that I have very limited amount of time to sit at my computer and when I do get this time I get in some billing time for my job. Also, not sure if anyone else has this problem... but it seems like it takes FOREVER to upload pictures. So if anyone has any ideas or can teach me how to upload quicker PLEASE, PLEASE help me!! Thanks in advance. Then I can just plug in some pics and blog again. In the mean time I will be keeping my pictures ready.

On another note... We are busy in another season of THE HAUNTED MILL. This is probably the first year I have felt like... Oh, this is not so bad. Probably because I have completed all the Advertising stuff and can take a big sigh of relief. Its really fun this year so if you haven't made it out I highly recommend it, also recommend wearing depends!! Ha HA!! It really is fun. You can also visit the website at http://www.thehauntedmillinteton.com/

We went a got family pics taken last Thursday. I was SO worried because the wind picked up. But to my amazement the wind was barely even blowing by six that night. We went to an old farm house out here in Burton. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Keep posted for pictures.

I just keep thinking... poor Keyton. We had SO much fun the last few months with our family going to the Nature Park and feeding the ducks and then taking a walk around the ponds. We also did this with the Jensen's. Keyton LOVES to be outside and this colder weather I have tried to keep him in. TRIED is the word of the day. He can now unlock and open our front door. This has been fun, especially when someone comes to the door and you don't know who it is and Keyton has the front door WIDE open. Any suggestions on this problem would be helpful.

Kaycen is growing SO fast. He is so much fun. I just absolutely LOVE this age... 4 months!! They are exploring EVERYTHING and they love you and giggle at you so much. He is getting to be such a chunky boy. I need to get my stats out on Keyton but I would bet Kaycen is out doing him in all categories. I love staying home and being a Mom, but it sure is hard some days. I just have to keep telling myself that I am blessed to be able to stay home with them because a lot of mothers don't have this opportunity. Thank you Britt for giving me this opportunity. I love you more than you know. I have been very humble lately and give thanks to my Heavenly Father for all that he has blessed me and my family with. We love all our family and want to tell them we think of them often.

Keep Posted!

Camping... well sorta.

About noon last saturday we decided to head up to Palisades for the rest of the day and hang out with some friends that were camping. We got there about three and Keyton played SO hard with the other boys. He was SO dirty when Britt came back from fishing. I took a picture but it really doesnt give justice of how dirty he really was. We then cooked dinner over the fire and went home late. One of our friends was so smart and brought those glow-sticks for the kids. It was a great idea because if they wandered away from the fire we could still see them. I will try to remember this for our next trip.. and hopefully we can actually 'CAMP' next time. I wasnt about to stay up there in a tent especially after they told us another camper came by and said a bear was sited up the road. NO THANKS!!

The Briggs Boys!

Britt, Keyton & Kaycen hanging out watching the Olympics... It was all I could do to get Britt to take his eyes off the TV for a quick pic.

LOOK MOM!! I FOUND A WORM!!!

Keyton, Ireland and Naomi were outside the other weekend and Keyton came running in the house screaming " Look Mom, I found a worm! " I was like... Oh great because nothing new with him right, he is always hunting for worms... Well I decided I better take a look at this 'worm' and to my surprise it was a Fuzzy Catapillar! Here are the kids holding it. Since then he has found a couple more and we put one in a jar and the next day it formed into a cacoon before we could release it. So it will be fun to see if it will actually make it out in about 9-14 days!

THE BOYS!

Keyton LOVES Kaycen so much!!!
Kaycen went for his 2 month check up last week and weighs in at 12 lbs 13 ounces. The doc said he is SOLID and HEALTHY. What more could a mom ask for!

Nieces and Nephews

Heath and Coleen's kids were here the other weekend and so I grabbed them after church and took them out to Grandma Kim's log cabin for some pictures. Here is the family one I took. They are growing up SO fast. Jared 10 - Nakell almost 9 - Naloni 7 - Ammon 5 - Ireland 4 - Naomi 2.

Keyton & Judd

Keyton's cousin Judd came over today to play. They spent most of the day outside. I couldnt resist taking a picture after they colored their legs, arms and faces with sidewalk chalk. The colors were pink and yellow... Judd mainly had the pink so it blended with his skin but if you look closely you can see the yellow on Keyton's face.

BUZZED!!

First time we BUZZED Keyton's hair. I didnt want to do it but Britt said he would look fine. As I was shaving it he had this big bump on his head from a mosquito bite. It was so hard to get over and around it because of how swollen it was. All in all... he faired well and still looks as handsome as ever.

Sand Box fun!

Keyton LOVES to play in the dirt. Well the only place he can do this at our house is in the flower bed. So we decided that he needed his own sandbox. Britt bought a hard plastic swimming pool and put some holes in the bottom of it so the water can drain and brought some washed sand from work. He spends most of his time outside playing in the sandbox. Here are a few pics...

Keyton has this thing for worm hunting. He goes on the side of the house and looks under the lava rocks that have moss growing on them. Then if he does find one he handles it until its practically dead.

Here he is covering the worm in the sand.

My little 'BIG' helper

Keyton is so cute with the baby. He is always concerned if the baby comes up missing. He will ask us where he is and we tell him that the baby is sleeping. Well thats not a good enough answer because he will go search the entire house until he finds him. This can be good and bad because its nice that he cares, but most of the time he wakes the baby up which results in baby crying and I have to hold him or something until he falls back to sleep.

Keyton helping at bath time.

Keyton has to be in every picture I try and take of the baby. It is so funny.

Britt's foot update

Britt went to see the orthopedic surgeon last tuesday for a checkup. He told him that it was looking good and that we wanted him to start some physical therapy 3 times a week for the next 4 weeks. He said it will help with range of motion and take the swelling down. The doctor also told Britt that its actually good to use it as much as the pain will allow and that Britt walking on it is good.

We went to my office last night and I gave Britt's foot some ultrasound and muscle stimulation therapy. As we were there my boss came and we talked to him about Britt's foot. Well he told us to do the therapy and then go home and elevate and ice it and then ace bandage it up to his knee because he still has swelling that high. He said that it would force the swelling to move up his leg. Well sure enough, Britt woke up today and and there was NO, yes I said NO swelling in his foot and leg at all. He calf muscle is smaller than the good leg, which with the swelling it was lots bigger. So this was a good thing because neither one of us knew how long he was going to have such swelling. Anyways, looks like we are on the uphill of things.

Yellowstone Park

We went to Yellowstone Park the day after July 4th. It was an exciting adventure to say the least. Twenty-Two of us packed up for the day and rented a bus so that we all could be together and not have 4 vehicles in the park and try to stay together. Keyton thought that the bus ride was a lot of fun. I didnt get very many pictures that day because it was windy and I couldnt get out of the bus with the baby. But here are a few I did get.

Paint Pots

Britt & Heidi getting educated ;)

Old Faithful...well she isnt that 'faithful' anymore. I couldnt believe how many people were there watching. And even inside the lodge was full.

Keyton had to be with B-PA all day.

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Keyton is throwing rocks over the cliff.

BABY IS HERE!!

Well baby decided he needed to come before the midwife left town. My water broke at 4 a.m. Saturday June 14th. We went to the hospital at 7 am and then I got my epideral at 11:30 am and then I pushed about 15 times total and baby was born at 1:26 pm. His name is Kaycen Michael Briggs. He was 7 pds 5 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. We came home the following Monday. Both baby and I are doing really well.

About an hour after baby was born.

Keyton wanted to hold him right when he seen him.

One day later. He has to have his hands up by his face to sleep.

Surgery Update

Well the surgery is over and everything went well. They ended up removing the big broken off bone because it had a bunch of breaks off of it and removing some of the other bones that had been broken off and just floating around in the joints. Britt will go see the doctor monday and gt the staples removed. In the mean time he will be "riding the couch" as he says.

I also went to the doctor today and I was barely dialated to a 1 and 70% efaced. So she (the midwife I am seeing) thinks the baby will stay put until monday...well we all hope because she is leaving town over the weekend.

Britt's four-wheeler accident

On May 24th Britt wrecked his four-wheeler at the Sand Dunes. I got a call saying to meet him at the parking lot to take him to the Hospital because he had a broken ankle. After visiting the Emergency Room with an x-ray and later with an appointment to the Orthopedic Surgeon and requests of CT scans and an ultrasound they FINALLY set a surgery date for Monday June 9th. He has a bunch of bones that are floating around between his joints that need to be removed and a chunk out of one of the bones that they will try to repair and screw back onto the big bone. There is also a couple really big cracks in two of the bones. So he will be down for awhile to say the least. In the mean time we are hoping the baby stays put until due date.
