Quick Update

We carved pumpkins. Kaycen was so funny because he just wanted to eat the slimy guts!

Keyton was SpiderMan and Kaycen was a Bear for Halloween.

Britt's going bald on top! lol. He claims that its his hard hat rubbing all his hair out, I tell him
to take a good look at his extended family members ;)

Supporting GG-pa Wright on Veteran's Day.

I made these infant car seat covers for my cousins twins out of minkee fabric. One of the many
projects I elected myself to make this year :) I love my new sewing machine. I have to keep myself out
of the fabric departments because I just get myself more projects that I dont have time for. Speaking of which, I am thinking I have enough fabric to make two more just like these. I better finish my older projects first. Story of my life these days.

Banner Christmas Party at Coleen's house this year!

Decorated the Christmas tree in November this year. That is a first for us. We usually wait until two weeks before Christmas. Might I add, I remember why we wait ;) The poor tree has been through a lot this year. I
usually wait until after New Years to take the decorations down, nope, did it yesterday. I almost, almost, felt bad about it.

Keyton reading to Kaycen. Both boys just love books!

Both boys diagnosed with Asthma. Kaycen is so good about sitting and having a breathing treatment. Apparently its hereditary and comes from their Dad. Asthma, exzema, allergies... you name it, they have it. I guess it could be worse, so I am thankful its as mild as it is. Britt grew out of it, so most likely both boys will as well.

Santa made a stop up to Coleen's house for the annual Briggs Christmas Party Weekend. Thanks for the PJ's Santa!

All the Briggs Grandkids in their new PJ's from Santa.

I just had to post this picture. Britt was throwing Kaycen up in the air as high as he could and Kaycen could not get enough of it. He kept saying "again, again!" until Britt could'nt throw him anymore.

Christmas Eve Party at the Klingler's. The grandkids acted out the Nativity as Greg read it.

Klingler Christmas Eve Party

Kaycen and Keyton were enjoying some chips that Santa brought in their stockings before breakfast.

All handsome to go to Church.

Britt was putting the snow plow on the four-wheeler when the boys heard Britt fire it up they both ran to the back door, got their warm clothes on and out the door before I could have a say. Now all we need is the snow.

I had to use this picture for my closing thought! Poor Kaycen has had this running nose thing for a week now and in the mornings its worse. Well he knew it was gross and was playing it up laughing about it so I had to get a picture. We had a great holiday and managed to gain a few pounds to show for it ;) Next week Britt goes in for his CT Scan and Injection Test and from there we will schedule his surgery. I keep telling Britt since the deductible will be met we might as well throw in a baby the same year. It would be bringing back memories of him having his first surgery and me having a baby 4 days later :) Then I just kid myself because really I am not ready for another baby just yet. We hope you all had just as good of a holiday as we did and bless you all to have a Happy New Year!

Quote's about Boys

You would think I was pregnant or something ;) Britt left for the weekend to Salmon Steelhead fishing with a friend. Well the boys and I have been hanging out keeping busy. I have been going through very old pictures, scrapbook stuff, and throwing away stuff I know that I will never use again or care to have. Like I said.. .you would think I was nesting or something, lol. Anyways, found these fun vellum "Quote Stacks" (Its all about boys) and wanted to share some of my favorites. If I was crafty I would use them in some creative way. Feel free to take any you like and use them anyway you would like :)

This one makes me a little baby hungry...

A beautiful treasure, more precious than gold. My own baby boy, to love and to hold.

Boys are found everywhere on top of, underneath, inside of, climbing on, swinging from, running around or jumping to. A boy is truth with dirt on its face, beauty with a cut on its finger, wisdom with bubble gum in its hair, and the hope of the future with a frog in its pocket. ~ Alan Marshall Beck

BOY: a noise with dirt on it.

All for one and one for all My brother and my friend What fun we have The time we share Brothers 'til the end.

Life is either a daring ADVENTURE or nothing. ~ Helen Keller

As long as there are little boys for mischief and mud pies, for charming you, alarming you, and coaxing lullabies. As long as there are little boys so busy everywhere, Your world is sure to be a happy, loving place to share.

I have been really a crazy, slacker, grouchy, bad mom lately with everything thats been happening over the last few months. With being busy at The Haunted Mill and then the actually season, my billing job I do at home part-time, selling Scentsy, and all the stay-at-home duties of a mother. I was feeling way overwhelmed and about ready to go check myself into the local Blackfoot South (crazy person) institute when I asked Britt for a blessing. I cant even express in words how it immediately helped me. The next day I was more patient with the boys than I have been in over 2 months. I felt like I could actually accomplish things and spend the time I wanted to with the boys. I have felt since then that I have been drawing back closer to Britt and the boys and not floating off in insanity world. I think that part of my almost break-down last week was that I had my Mirena (IUD) removed. Not because we want a baby anytime soon, just because I feel like its half of my anxiety/patience issues and more. So my hormones have been crazy trying to get back on track. I am just thankful that Britt has the priesthood and can help any one of us in times of need. Finding this little quote book has also made me take a step back and realize what fun, great boys I have and how thankful I am to be able to stay at home with them. Here's to changing my old habits of yelling, crazy, slacking, insane ways to positive, patient, happy, loving Mom!

Sharing Recipes

Ok, so Holly (Britt's sister) sent me this super easy, delicious, and not to mention if you are allergic to milk you can eat these. I made them, shared them, ate them, loved them, so thought everyone that doesn't know should know this recipe. Oh at it makes like almost 4 dozen muffins!!

Pumpkin Muffins
2 boxes of spice cake
1 can of 100% pumpkin (29 oz.)
1 bag of your favorite chocolate chips ( If you use semi-sweet Ghirardelli chocolate chips they are milk free) I use the Guittard real milk chocolate chips.

Mix cake and pumpkin together well then stir in the chocolate chips. Then spoon into cupcake pan. I buy the foil cupcake ones because you can fill a bunch more and put them on a cookie sheet and only make 2 batches rather than 4 (12 muffin) batches.

Bake on 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes. I poke mine with a toothpick to see if done. Makes 32-40 muffins. You can also put a little cream cheese frosting on them instead of chocolate chips or both :)

Enjoy!

I have been getting brave and trying new recipes over the last few weeks. Last week was Pineapple Ham Casserole. Britt LOVED it, Keyton picked the ham out. Kaycen ate just the noodles and me... well lets say I have never been a big fan of warm pineapple :) But if you are then you would like this recipe. Also been using my crockpot a lot. Love that invention!

Tomorrow I am attempting Halloween Cake Pops with the kids... pictures to come :)

Baby/Toddler Homemade Items

Ok, so I have been trying to be more 'crafty' lately. I just decided that all the things I love when I have babies that I can never find I will make myself. It started all with those infant car seat covers that fit nicely over the top of your baby with the peak hole. No blankets to mess with, love it. Well I looked EVERYWHERE since I knew I was having Keyton. I could never find one. Well my cousin is having twins and a friend of mine's sister-in-law just had twins. I was surfing Etsy.com and came upon a PATTERN to make them. ONLY $3.80. So if you want it, email me I would love to share it. Simple and fun. So because I always find myself little sewing projects I decided it was time to buy a sewing machine. I have made 3 and am going to finish the other 2 for my cousin this week. Pics to come. Well this sprung an idea that maybe I should make them, sell them for less than what others sell similar ones for just because I know that I would buy them for gifts as well as for myself. (did that even make sense? lol) Then my idea sprung to more things that I LOVE. Full-size hooded towels.. who doesn't love these? Seriously! Super easy and like I said.. I would sell them for not very much (can you tell I am crazy or something) I don't want the money, just want to share the BEST baby/kid things. Next on my list are burp rags. I was shown the CUTEST pattern ever and so simple and they absorb a ton! Which is such a plus. Other things I thought of are those cute crayon/pencil holders (simple) Nursing Covers that are large to cover ALL. and last idea is Bow Holders. I don't have any girls (yet, maybe one day in a few years ;)) but EVERYONE buys those super cute bows that everyone is selling, well where are you going to put them? Found some REALLY cute ideas. Anyways, I guess is what I am saying, simple, cost effective for all, and fun! Am I CRAZY?? Where will I ever get the time to make them? Give me some impute.. all you Mothers out there, would this seriously be worth my time? oh, and I must stay out of the fabric store... a person can get in a lot of trouble there, have you seen the NEW MINKEE patterns, WOW!!

Last of the Huckleberries

Labor Day 9/7/09 Britt and I went to pick huckleberries for the last time this year. We picked for about 2 1/2 hours and got close to a gallon and a half. We went up to Moody Meadows on the trail into Castle Lake. I know everyone thinks that sharing your huckleberry 'spot' is SO bad, but I see it that there were SO many berries this year that everyone should be in. It was so nice to spend a few hours with just Britt and I out enjoying nature.
I told Britt that I was going to post this on our blog because he always ends up with huckleberry streaks and grass stains on his pants. Here is proof! He says that its his secret method of picking :) Looking up the trail....
On the drive into Moody Meadows the trees have grown together over the road creating this tunnel effect. I just love the outdoors!

This butterfly kept hanging around and following us for about an hour.

Tooele, Utah trip ~ 9/4-6/09

Keyton received his second shiner in a month. Poor kid, in the same place even. Jeron and Keyton were running around playing and they crashed into eachother. Today 9/18/09 you can still see a slight bruise. I think someone might turn us in to child-protective-services. Jeron is hanging out with Keyton after the big crash since I made Keyton
lay down for 5 minutes.
Liliona and Kaycen were loving this toy that played music. They would clap their hands and dance. It was so cute. Holly got it on video camera.
Kaycen couldnt get enough of the stairs, which I call the death stairs because of how steep they are. Holly had just got new carpet and it was SO soft and Kaycen kept throwing his binkie down to the bottom just so he could slide as fast as he could backwards down them.

One thing is for sure. Its hard on a toddlers sleeping pattern when you travel. Everything is just new and fun and they dont want to take a nap and miss anything. Poor Kaycen was SO tired that right before we left Sunday he was eating some lunch and it was all he could do to put his hand to his mouth. After taking this pic I put him in the pickup and I think he was asleep before Britt started the engine. He slept the ENTIRE way home.

Ice Cream Treat ~ 9/4/09

The boys LOVE a good ice cream cone. We stopped at Artic Circle on our way to Holly's house in Utah. Of course dessert is first, we wouldnt want the icecream to melt.

Tease... ~ 8/31/09

I sent Keyton to get dressed and when he came out he said.. "Mom, are these my pants, ha ha!" I couldnt believe he could fit into Kaycen's pants size 12-18 months. He wears the waist of a 2T but needs the length of a 4T.

Mud Buds ~ 8/27/09

The boys went outside to play and were really quiet. When I went to see what kind of trouble they were getting into, this is what I found....
They found a vole hole and decided to fill it with water. Resulting in mud. This mud playing business has become a weekly event at our house. If there is a mud puddle the boys are sure to find it.

8 hours of Salsa 8/26/09

First we started the day off eating cupcakes for Breakfast... so healthy! I tried to give him a banana, but the cupcake won. The slave line. Coleen made the kids help, I think they actually liked touching the tomatoes and getting their hands all yucky! Nalani kept telling us all day..."You know, we really should sell the salsa, we could make a lot of money." She is so funny! All of our backs were killing us by the 4th hour into it.
The reward for a hard day of work... 24 PINTS and 12 QUARTS!!

growing up...

Keyton lately has been asking Britt all sorts of questions when he gets out of the shower. Like why do you have so much hair, why do you have hair in your armpits, what is that (his deodarant stick) and why does he use it? When he shaves his face Keyton is right there watching so carefully. Well this morning he says to me :

"This is an elbow and this is an armpit. And when I grow big there is hair in there."

I just about rolled off my chair. This kid cracks me up! So my question to you all... How old is too old to let your little ones see you 'out of the shower'?

Ok, so Keyton is on this growing up kick, shortly after the first comment above he then preceeded with this one...

Keyton: "When you gonna give Cub Bear (Kaycen) a haircut?
Me: "I dont know, he does need one though."
Keyton: "I am going to do it all myself. And I won't cut his ear and he wont cry."

Poor Keyton, last time Britt cut his hair it was drama, cut ears and lots of tears... they really dont forget anything do they?!

Grandpa Dean and Aunt Shannon's birthday party

Boston, Bailey, Judd, Brigham and Keyton

8/20/09~It was so good to see Lottie and the kids! It has felt like a long time, we are so happy they are moved back and get to spend the holidays with us. Its also fun to have cousins the same age as the boys to play with. The other day my neighbor brought her boy over and Keyton kept calling him Brigham.. well he didnt like that so much and would say... I am NOT Brigham.. so funny! I had to remind Keyton that they look a lot alike, but his friends name is Jacob!

Milt, Judd, Laurie, Grandma & Grandpa Klingler

Playing with the cousins. I love how birthdays make good excuses to get together as a family.

Dean, Trevor, Shannon and Britt

lip gloss...

Keyton got into some of my lip gloss that was pink, and I am not sure where the purple came from, but this was the end result...

Keyton's first horse ride

8/17/09~~Keyton got to ride our neighbors horse the other day. This was his first horse ride. He thought it was so fun. The next day the horse got really sick and died a few days later. I am glad Keyton got to ride Diamond the last time for his first time. Keyton is pretty sad about it.

Scentsy Convention 2009 SLC

8/14/09~~ My friend Melissa and I drove together to Scentsy Convention in SLC. We spent two days there having so much fun. I love how Scentsy is all about giving back and Orville and Heidi Thompson (Presidents of Scentsy) were so genuine and real. It was a nice break from the boys, but when I came home they were so fussy for 2 days... I often wondered if it was worth leaving... then I remember everything I took from Convention and how it encourages me to be a better person every day!
Crystal, Melissa, Brandi & Kelly

A day in the Outdoors

8/1/09~ Britt, Dennis, Mercedes and I went up above Kelly Canyon to pick Huckleberries. We spent about 5 hours and between the 4 of us we picked about 6 gallons!! It was so peaceful to get outdoors and spend time with family.

Sprinkler ~ Tub ~ Nap .. what more could I ask for?

~ 7/28/09~

And I can't forget Keyton's shiner. You can't really tell and the next day it looked worse. Britt was wrestling with the boys and Keyton fell into Britt's elbow. There is a reason I am a hermit, my kids would be taken away with all the bumps and bruises they have.
