Last couple weekends

4/24/10--I really wanted to go to Yellowstone for the day, but Britt thought it would be a really long drive for the kids and they probably wouldnt enjoy it as much as we would so I mentioned Bear World. Since its a hop skip and a jump from our house we chose to go there. It was 1/2 price and we got our community cards for 1/2 off admission for 3 people (2 and under free) for the rest of the 2010 season. That day they had the amusement rides for free as well. As we were driving through I felt a little sad for all those black bears to be in such a small area. The boys loved it, so I guess thats all that mattered.
Old Griz
This poor goat wouldnt even eat out of Keyton's hand because he was so full and had a belly to show for it. At least it was good enough to let them pet and pull on his horns ;) The baby bear cubs were so cute and running and playing all around. Sorry, no pictures of the amusement rides. I had to ride with Kaycen and handed the camera to Britt. I am thankful he didnt take pics of me on the little kiddy rides, lol. The boys couldnt get enough of it. We will definately be using our community cards. If anyone wants to borrow them give me a call, I would love to share them.

4/27/10 ~ I found my new love .. http://www.knock-offwood.com/ It has SO many plans to build your own things. Here is the first thing I built (I mean Britt took over and did it himself because he said it would take me 3 times as long if I did it) really though, I so was wanting to do it myself. The boys love it and we are going to put bugs and their names with vinyl on it and it only cost $25 to make :)
4/28/10 ~ When its rainy/snowy/wind and cold outside this is what the boys do on a day to day basis for fun....

and might I add... 30 seconds to throw cushions and pillows back on the couch for over 2 hours of entertainment. So worth it.

5/1/10 ~ The kids put on a play at Coleen's over the weekend. I am so glad they are creative and do things rather than watch tv all the time when the weather is yucky.
Not sure who Keyton was or exactly what was going on but the girls sure laughed and giggled a lot. Kaycen just ran around and then forgot about the stairs he is sitting on right after that pic and fell down them. I swear my kids sure get hurt a lot. But then I am thankful that their injuries are only as bad as they are because lots of families have it a lot worse.

ER comedy

Wednesday Night 4/28/10 Keyton woke up around 10:45 pm and had this different sounding cough than he normally does if he wakes up with an asthma attack. Poor kid coughed and threw up so hard his stomach was killing him. He had this terrible sounding cough that I havent heard him do for a couple months. Well usually we can get him to stop coughing and go back to sleep but that night was different. We gave him 2 albuterol breathing treatments and still nothing would stop it. Finally Britt said take him to the doctor. So I loaded him up and took him to the emergency room. Of course when we get there he is not as bad, but still coughing. They said it wasnt in his lungs so it wasnt an asthma attack. His oxygen levels were normal. It was acute croup. Nice! So they gave him this different medicine in a breathing treatment machine and an oral steriod. The coughing almost stopped completely with him only coughing once ever couple minutes. After about an hour watching him they let us go home. Anyways, so scary thing, but glad I took him in. I also never knew how funny a 4 year old is at 1 in the morning. Here are a few things he said that I dont want to forget. You know the thing they put on your finger to monitor your heart rate and oxygen levels, well Keyton asked me if it was sucking all him blood out... I am thinking maybe the red light on it made him think that... but it was so funny. Then he asked me if it was Kaycen's birthday, I told him not yet. And he asked when my birthday was, I said, after Kaycen's birthday. He then asked me if I was going to be 55. After I laughed I said, no, thats how old Grandma is, do you think I look as old as Grandma? He laughed and said, yes! He was on one that night. He said a couple other things, but maybe when I catch up on the sleep I lost that night I will remember and come post it. Until then, If you are looking for a good laugh, talk to a 4 year old at 2 in the morning :)

April 5 -11 2010

Family Home Evening 4/5/10 ~ We planted some seeds to get ready for the garden. The kids were so excited to help and some of our seeds sprouted in 2 days! Keyton was SO excited.
Kaycen has been having this shoe and coat/jacket wearing issue. We have to hide them because otherwise he wants his shoes and coat on ALL THE TIME. So since he couldnt find his stuff, he came out of my bedroom with Britt's boots and hat.

4/9/10 ~ Keyton has been this Super mario brothers wii addict lately. He wants to play it every second he can. I was thinking this was a problem, but he would much rather be outside and if he had to chose the wii or play outside he would pick going outside anyday. So now its being used more as a reward. Here he is all in his 'zone'
4/9/10 ~ For Keyton's Birthday we had the grandparents over for pizza and cake n' ice cream. I wanted to have a fun party with cousins and friends but I am thinking we will wait until next year. I think Kaycen enjoyed Keyton's birthday just as much as he did.
Britt thought he had to get Keyton a four-wheeler. I kept telling him that we needed to wait another year or two. Of course he got one, and yep, Keyton was too small for it. So the next day we went to walmart and bought what I wanted to get the boys for their birthdays....
and they LOVE it!! So the four wheeler is being sold to Coleen for Ammon.

4/11/10 ~ I bought the boys easter outfits for church. Then afterwards thought... General Conference is Easter Sunday. Oh well, so the following sunday they wore them instead. After church I tried VERY hard to get a cute picture of them. My result...
and finally got these ones...
I thought they looked very handsome. Britt said he wanted to puke and that Keyton's looked gay. Rude! Figures, he doesnt know anything about style ;) lol.

Easter Fun

The week before Easter Kaycen got this virus that gave him really boogery eyes for 3 days. Then Keyton got it but not very bad and only a day. So thankful all they had was runny noses for the weekend. This year has been the worst for sicknesses. I am so over it and if spring/summer doesnt get here I just might have to pack up and go south for a month or two until it does ;) Here is a picture of Kaycen's one eye on a better day.

Grandma Briggs helping the boys dye eggs. When they got done both boys hands were dyed all weekend. But they loved it so much, so it was worth the mess.

Since we woke up Saturday to a very windy/snowy day we decided to not go to the local egg hunt up at the school and just do the one that Britt's mom has for the kids at her house. They had fun running around fighting the cousins for eggs. I had to keep telling Kaycen to get more eggs, all he wanted to do was open and eat the candy. Afterwards we all get together and open the eggs and see what yummy candy and prizes they get. We also did the annual Adult Egg hunt as well. The Crowther's (Britt's aunt's family) came over and shared the day with us. I think they liked the adult egg hunt but probably thought we were crazy fighting over the eggs and the grand prize egg. Then we ate yummy food and enjoyed eachothers company.

The boys were spoiled this year with all the Grandparents they have and what we got them that we will be eating candy until Halloween. Today they ate lunch at 2:30 because they wouldnt stay out of it. I am thinking more and more, maybe if I just let them eat it all in one day then it will be gone and I dont have to eat it. lol.

Sunday we were watching Conference and Keyton kept asking when it would be over and I finally told him to go play in his room. Well about 15 minutes later and not hearing him I went in his room to see what he possibly was destroying this time and to my surprise I found this....
Ten minutes later Kaycen fell asleep. They both played so hard over the weekend that they had 2 naps Sunday and went to bed early. Thanks everyone for a fun weekend!
